Architecture speaks back

This is the first step toward creating an archive documenting the construction of the "Georgia Department of Highways and Transportation." The initiative began after a devastating fire occurred at George Chahava's studio in 2008, which resulted in the loss of several important materials such as plans, models, drawings, photographs and related documents.

The proposed archives would be located in the ministry building.
A workshop was organized with presentations, discussions and suggestions on possible alternative applications of the framework. This workshop was organized using materials from the former Georgia Department of Highway and Transportation makeshift archive, which is partially on display in the building.1

The archives were exhibited in the building of the Ministry of Education and were brought together by Nini Palavandishvili, Lali Pertenava, Ana Bejanashvili and Gogiko Sakvarelidze, with the support of the Chakhava family and Zurab Jalagania.
